Things I have learned
That I would love a person as much as I love my daughter.
That breastfeeding would be so unnatural, frustrating, and difficult for me.
That it is possible to function on three hours of sleep a night.

June 2, 2008
at 2:20pm, weighing a grand total of 6lbs. 3oz. my little girl made her grand entrance finally. She was 3 weeks early, but the doctor felt that everything was ok for delivery. I had a c-section and that wasn't any where near as bad as I thought it would be.
Little one spent her first two days in the Neo-natal ICU before being transfered to the cardiac ward. There she did quite well for a baby with cardiac problems. She did not need oxygen or any other daily support. Last Thursday, when she was 9 days old, she had her aortic valve ballooned. She did very well with that and it made a world of difference with her. Then yesterday she had her big heart surgery to fix her aorta. The surgeon said it went very well and she is recovering in the cardiac ICU right now. There is a good chance she will be moved back to the cardiac ward today because she is doing so well.
It has taken a while for me to regain any strength after having a c-section. But I am hoping that I will be able get out more and getting to a computer more. My Dad and my sister Joanna have been wonderful in helping out.
(I don't have pictures available to post just yet. The last 17 days have been a roller coaster for me and I am living at the hospital as long as my little girl is there. But picutres will be posted one of these days.)

The Pink Set
I am back at the library and this time I remembered the picture of the pink set that Sandie knit for little one. I just couldn't stand the fact that I forgot it.

More for the Little One
I am the slowest blogger ever. I know it as well. But I think I have a good excuse really, at least for now. To let the gifts that Little One has recieved go one more day without posting would just be bad form on my part. So I have dragged my pregnant self to the library (since moving, I do not have internet at home) with my pictures saved on a flash disk. I also need to catch up on emails, like always. The lack of internet at home also means that I am without my cool spell check thing as well. Just ignore the spelling errors.
First of all, from Sandie, there are three lovely bibs and two knit sweater sets. The pink set is very girly and my little girl needs some girliness in her wardrobe. The white set is ssoo soft and shiny, I get it out just to pet it sometimes. (There are pictures of the pink set, they just didn't make it on to the disk last night. I'm pregnant??? That is my excuse for my complete stupidity right now. One of these years I will get a few brain cells back, hopefully.)

May Self Portrait-Fresh

Teaching is always interesting, no matter what happens during the day. These pictures were taken on a good day about a year and a half ago. My class had been amazing that day and told them they could use the writing box as a reward. It was nothing more than a box with leftover paper, envelopes, stickers, and colored pens and pencils. The kids thought it was funny to cover me in stickers. I didn't even notice until several hours after I got home and it was pointed out to me that I had stickers on my arms.
