Warning, photo heavy entry...

I had planned on writing the other day, but with the news from London, I just didn't have to energy to write anything happy and fun. At least I know my Dad is still in Wales and ok.

I spent Wednesday at Eslite book store in Taipei. It is the only book store in the city open 24 hours a day. You can go in there at 2 am and there are still a lot of people there. And in Taiwan, you are expected to sit down and read a book before you buy it. Bookstores here are almost like libraries in the U.S. It is great. Now will I was at the book store, looking at the best seller books, this book caught my attention. Maybe it would give me advice on how to find a man. There is a chapter called, "If he doesn't call you, he might not be interested in you." Ok. make sense. But the chapter called, "If he is having sex with someone else, he might not be into you," and "If he is married, he might not be into you." If you have to read a book to know this, you should be taken out of the dating pool. DUH PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mass stupidity amazes me. I can't believe this book is a bestseller here.  I digress, here is a picture of one of the cool bookstores in Taipei. medium_100_0418.jpg

Here in Taipei, there is a 7-11 pretty much on every corner. There are 4 within a three minute walk from my apartment. Right now 7-11 is having this special, if you spend so much money, you get this cute Hello Kitty magnet that is part of the 30 year celebration of Hello Kitty. It is a craze that I have been swept up in. And I finally have all of them.medium_100_0422.3.jpg I am so excited. I found the last one the other day as I was walking to Eslite book store. If you are walking on medium_100_0425.jpgRen Ai Road across the street from Ren Ai Hospital, there is a little shoe stand and the guy is selling a bunch of different years for NT30 each! It is a good deal people. And he as a lot of the ones that are harder to find. medium_100_0421.jpg

Taiwan imports at lot of stuff from China and Japan that I can buy here for cheap, especially really cute socks. Right now the U.S. is having a trade dispute with China because the U.S. is blaming China for all the layoffs of U.S. workers in the textile industry. Such a shame. Actually, I got these socks at the Japanese import store, but they could have been made in China for all I know. But they cost me all of about $0.03 U.S. A good deal for really cute socks. Are you jealous yet? medium_100_0415.jpgmedium_100_0416.jpg

Dude. You could make a killing selling those socks by mail-order.
