Total Insanity.............

I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas. I received a fabulous gift this year, the first pair of socks my best friend ever knitted. They are really comfy, she made them extra long for me :-), and I am just excited about having them. c63ac2d56597ef617595b66133245eaa.jpg

She also sent me some yarn that I am knitting into a blanket. I am not sure how I feel about it just yet though. So it is going to sit in the knitting bag while I have a think about it.f645c09a780be1d5de7ef3e574590dc1.jpg49baea8640b576f530834307eca11458.jpg I am knitting it from the center out.

I finished knitting Quant from the latest edition of Knitty.com. I am not very happy with the way the one end turned out. I like symmetry in my headbands.a3587b28ebf82033cbc77830ed1a5802.jpg98269d33b93cb15842ecd4f7190b7204.jpg I also bought myself some yarn to make myself some more headbands. I don't like wearing hats, but need to keep my ears warm. So I have found that nice, wide headbands work for me.

The red yarn is for another panta and the purple yarn is for a calorimetry.9738c2d56f095ed2342bd640f7610fb8.jpg (Don't ask me to put links in today) I have some more yarn that I am saving for someone special.ad341a4a262bdd38d482dd688988c691.jpg

I am an American who has just moved to Taipei - found this site by Googling 'Taipei knitting', which led me to Crafty Diversions, which linked here. So, um... where are the yarn shops? I don't speak any Chinese yet and none of my coworkers are knitters, so they've been hard to find. I've seen tiny skeins in department stores, but that's about it so far. Thanks! I appreciate any advice you can give, and good luck in Leeds. (We lived in the Netherlands for a year before coming here, so are doing the US -> Europe -> Asia thing in the opposite order from you.)

How wonderful. You will treasure those socks always. My BFF loves the socks I made for her too, and I was so happy to make them.

It was good to see you blogging again. You have been quiet far too long. I am glad to read you had a good Christmas.

Happy New Year kiddo! :)

Fantastic socks! I'm loven the colors. Cute headband. I hear ya, I don't wear hats. Ok, I don't like to wear hats. I think I look incredibly stupid.
Can't wait to see what you knit up for your wee little one!!! Are you going to find out if you having a boy or girl?
