Things I have learned

That I would love a person as much as I love my daughter. d9080d1c6f4be5d780f23cbe33e52ec1.jpg

That breastfeeding would be so unnatural, frustrating, and difficult for me.

That it is possible to function on three hours of sleep a night.

That I am so glad that all the tubes and wires are no longer attached. 916c531a2524234154b109f18bacbc2b.jpg
And living in a hospital for over three weeks it not fun at all. b150c58fd2fe4ea81297500dddd08480.jpg
I am slowly working on school stuff, a whole mess is due in a few days. After that, I will try to email and what not. Please be patient.

June 2, 2008

at 2:20pm, weighing a grand total of 6lbs. 3oz. my little girl made her grand entrance finally. She was 3 weeks early, but the doctor felt that everything was ok for delivery. I had a c-section and that wasn't any where near as bad as I thought it would be.

Little one spent her first two days in the Neo-natal ICU before being transfered to the cardiac ward. There she did quite well for a baby with cardiac problems. She did not need oxygen or any other daily support. Last Thursday, when she was 9 days old, she had her aortic valve ballooned. She did very well with that and it made a world of difference with her. Then yesterday she had her big heart surgery to fix her aorta. The surgeon said it went very well and she is recovering in the cardiac ICU right now. There is a good chance she will be moved back to the cardiac ward today because she is doing so well.

It has taken a while for me to regain any strength after having a c-section. But I am hoping that I will be able get out more and getting to a computer more. My Dad and my sister Joanna have been wonderful in helping out.

(I don't have pictures available to post just yet. The last 17 days have been a roller coaster for me and I am living at the hospital as long as my little girl is there. But picutres will be posted one of these days.)
