My Sissy Loves Me!!!! :) :) :) (and yarn porn)
My birthday was in May. I am closer to 30 now than to 25, but that is not the topic of this post. Today I received my birthday from my sissy Elizabeth who is in New York and who has just started her own blog. But pictures of everything I got in this super cool box she sent me. I am sorry for the crappy pictures. Between my excitment and the cat's excitment of new "toys" it was hard to get good pic
tures. The first picture is of me in my new travelling pants and my evil monkey shirt. Since I have started teaching, I have developed a respect, love, and almost obsession for evil monkeys. And there is a close up of the evil monkey shirt. Thinking that maybe the evil monkey shirt needs some wa
ist shaping. Next in the box was another shirt. Since I was taking pictures in the mirror, the black shirt says "I'm strange, maybe even crazy, but never a dull moment."
Don't believe me, just ask my students. They will completely agree, with the shirt. Then came out a bunch of cool goodies and books. She sent me the Loop-d-loop book of knitting patterns. The patterns are not standard fare of hourglass or raglan sweaters that I have so far. I really like the designs though some of them show more skin that I like to show. And she sent me the 3rd book of the Travelling Pants.
I know they are classified as young adult, but I still like them. I got the Rob Thomas CD, which I like, thank you very much. There were Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean and a glow stick. There are a lot of gross flavors in the beans and I can use them when students are naughty. Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!!!!!!! All of this stuff was included in a new bag that I going to use for work.
And I also got the Boye Needlemaster Interchangable kit. I am really excited about this. No more going to the Japanese import store and trying to guess what size needle I am actually buying.
And finally some yarn porn. I know they look like the same color, but they are for different projects.
The small skien is to finish my go-anywhere, go with anything cardigan from the Stitch-N-Bitch book. The three pound skien are to make Mariah by Jodi Green and published in Knitty.com. And I am going to start as soon as I am finished with Bad Penny.

Harry Potter 6- Discuss
Still waiting for any thoughts on the newest Harry Potter book. So lets see, what is there to talk about;
Professor Snape-always on of my favorite characters. What about his role in this book? What were your thoughts of Snape after reading Chapter 1? Any predictions about his role further along in the story?
Draco Malfoy-even though I enjoy cheering for the bad guy, Draco is one of those student I never want to have in my class. What do you think he is up to this year? How is he going to annoy Harry Potter this year?
The ending of the book-the last five chapters sucked me in. Thoughts, opinions, reactions to the end of the book. Any predictions for book 7?
Any other thoughts you wish to discuss? I really enjoyed this one, much more than books 4 and 5.
Yes, I truly am a teacher. Please answer all questions in paragraph form. Spelling, grammer and punctuation do count. :)

Warning, photo heavy entry...
I had planned on writing the other day, but with the news from London, I just didn't have to energy to write anything happy and fun. At least I know my Dad is still in Wales and ok.
I spent Wednesday at Eslite book store in Taipei. It is the only book store in the city open 24 hours a day. You can go in there at 2 am and there are still a lot of people there. And in Taiwan, you are expected to sit down and read a book before you buy it. Bookstores here are almost like libraries in the U.S. It is great. Now will I was at the book store, looking at the best seller books, this book caught my attention. Maybe it would give me advice on how to find a man. There is a chapter called, "If he doesn't call you, he might not be interested in you." Ok. make sense. But the chapter called, "If he is having sex with someone else, he might not be into you," and "If he is married, he might not be into you." If you have to read a book to know this, you should be taken out of the dating pool. DUH PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mass stupidity amazes me. I can't believe this book is a bestseller here. I digress, here is a picture of one of the cool bookstores in Taipei.
Here in Taipei, there is a 7-11 pretty much on every corner. There are 4 within a three minute walk from my apartment. Right now 7-11 is having this special, if you spend so much money, you get this cute Hello Kitty magnet that is part of the 30 year celebration of Hello Kitty. It is a craze that I have been swept up in. And I finally have all of them.
I am so excited. I found the last one the other day as I was walking to Eslite book store. If you are walking on
Ren Ai Road across the street from Ren Ai Hospital, there is a little shoe stand and the guy is selling a bunch of different years for NT30 each! It is a good deal people. And he as a lot of the ones that are harder to find.
Taiwan imports at lot of stuff from China and Japan that I can buy here for cheap, especially really cute socks. Right now the U.S. is having a trade dispute with China because the U.S. is blaming China for all the layoffs of U.S. workers in the textile industry. Such a shame. Actually, I got these socks at the Japanese import store, but they could have been made in China for all I know. But they cost me all of about $0.03 U.S. A good deal for really cute socks. Are you jealous yet?

Next time; knitting updates, pictures of the cat brat, and Miyuki's first sonogram pictures. Same bat time, same bat channel.
