Requests, request....

So this weekend, two of the roommates and I went to Ilan for the weekend. I will post about that later, along with some knitting content, because this is, a knitting blog. So what is a knitting blog without knitting. And I so need to catch up on comments. Like Anne, Amanda, Sandie, Elizabeth, Mia, Jan, and Latoya. Really, promise, pinkie swear that I will leave comments by the end of the week. I have been really slacking, I know. I think I can blame work for this.

The real reason for this post. My best friend (Davi) and her sister (Rhi) are both pregnant and due three weeks apart. Davi's pregnancy is going great and everything is good with her and baby Brandon. Rhi is having difficulty and went in the hospital having contractions at 25.5 weeks. The doctors were able to stop the contractions and are giving Rhi steroids to help baby Kirstin's lungs to grow. And the Pimp is in the hospital here in Taiwan. He is going to have stay at least a week. He has been sick for 6 months and the doctors haven't been able to find the right antibiotic to give him to help him feel better. So Rhi, baby Kirstin, and the Pimp all need the good, positive, feel better thoughts you have. What ever it is you do; pray, dance, sing, you name it, they all need some right now. Baby Kirstin needs to stay in mommy as long as possible and the Pimp needs to get better. Did go to the hospital tonight and took the Pimp some food. Talk about a well-trained whore, right here bay-bee.

The trip to Ilan was a trip within its self. I should have know that it would be off to an interesting start when I went to buy my train ticket and the lady wouldn't sell me one because there were no seats available on the train I wanted. But it is normal to sell tickets even when there are no seats available. I have done it before. Ilan is only 1.5 hours from here on the express train. I had to call Lydia to translate that I just wanted a ticket, not a seat. More of the travel saga in a day or two. Going to see the Pimp again tomorrow at the hospital.

Semi-Mission Accomplished

If you remember (I am too lazy to link to a previous post called Mission Impossible), Lisa gave me three different yarns to use in one wearable item. I have done just that. It is a scarf, I think pictures are most appropriate at this point. First a full shoot and then some close up of the details, unblocked of course. But it is currently sitting in a cold water bath and will be dry by the end of the weekend. medium_100_0985.3.jpgmedium_100_0983.jpgmedium_100_0984.jpgI have also completed three scarves this week, which impresses me to no end. First is the Harry Potter PoA mini scarf, the pattern is on The Blue Blog. (I am just too lazy to put any links in tonight. Using my remaining energy to get ready for my day tomorrow and trip this weekend) Used some alpaca I found here in Taiwan. Then there is the Scrunchable Scarf knitted in Rowan Kid Classic which was brought back by the Pimp. Even my kids love the softness of the Rowan. And the third scarf is my stash scarf. It is a simple 3x3 rib scarf knitted with 4 strands of worsted weight leftover yarn from my stash. medium_100_0986.3.jpgmedium_100_0988.3.jpgI am working on socks made with the Knit Picks yarn that Mia (my secret pal) sent me.  medium_100_0994.jpgThis is the third time I have knit these socks, but it is finally working out and fits me. I have the first sock finished and the second sock started. They will be my train knitting this weekend. medium_100_0990.3.jpgmedium_100_0991.3.jpgAnd check out the short row heel. It is definitely getting better, but I am still not satisfied with how the wrapped stitches look. I trying to find a different way to do a short row heel. And then a little random stash busting knitting. Don't have a clue what it is yet though. medium_100_0993.jpgSo while Mission Impossible is finished, the mission to knit my stash is still under way. And I haven't bought any new yarn.......yet. That will probably change soon though.

This weekend is my trip to Hualien. I am almost completely packed as well. Just have to remember to toss my hairbrush in tomorrow morning before I leave for work. I will be going straight from work to the train station tomorrow. I am totally excited about it. So my next post will be pictures of the marble gorge and the town of Hualien.

This week at work, we have been doing Easter activities. Today was the Easter egg hunt for the different classes. We got to choose when and where to have the egg hunt for our class. Well, Weds at the staff meeting, the Pimp asked me (a first let me tell you) if I wanted my class to join his class because "we have the same playtime" What do you think I said. We talked about getting real stuff for the kids to find. So I texted him yesterday about what to buy. Got no response when I got home so went to the store and bought mini individual bags of candy and big boxes of Oreos for BOTH CLASSES people. At 11:30 last night my phone starts beeping. First reaction was, "Why is my alarm clock going off, I just went to sleep!!!" Then I realized that it was my phone and thought it was my sister Elizabeth. She regularly texts me at odd hours due to the time differences. Looked at my phone at it was the Pimp saying he just now had time to get back to me. Who is the real whore?!?!?!?! :) The kids had fun and the Pimp has been sick the past week or so. I am such a sucker, but I am still enjoying it. Have to finish laundry and stuff so I come home to a clean room on Sunday and all I have to do is some grocery shopping. Yeah for mini-vacations!!!! And I promise to answer comments and emails asap. Work has been insane this week with everything going. That is my excuse for now. Please bear with me.

Only one week left

Yesterday was the last official day of the semester. Next week is more of a camp/babysitting week until Chinese New Year which is next weekend. And then it is two weeks off with no kids and no parents. There should be lots of knitting though. I have so many projects to finish or plan for. Just aren't enough hours in the day. Even so, I still have knitting pictures to show off. I was able to get a picture of the Pimp modeling his hat. I have to say, I am very unhappy with his hat. I should have taken out a repeat, thicker yarn, smaller needles, on and on and on. He seems very happy with it though. Guess that is all that matters, right? See for yourself. Please ignore the cropping skills as I had to get children out of the picture. medium_100_0824.3.jpgAnd I have finished a sock for myself. I found a toe-up, short row heel sock pattern that I wanted to try out. The idea behind it is that I can learn how to do short row heels and by working from the toe-up, I don't have to worry about running out of yarn before I am finished. Since this is the first one, there are lots of holes. And since this is the first pair of socks I have knit for myself, I have been wearing one sock since I finished it last night. medium_100_0825.jpg And there is a picture of the second sock as well. The goal is that in a few weeks I will have several more completed projects to show. The Pimp left last night for his trip back home and in about three weeks, I should have some more yarn to work with. I will have more yarn to work with. He had to borrow my suitcase for his trip (does that not make me the biggest whore ever) and I left a note in the bottom telling him what is at his parents' house.  medium_100_0826.jpgmedium_100_0827.jpgmedium_100_0828.jpg
